PRINCE MCLEOD RAMS Would Be Living in a World with THE QUINCY SOLUTION
“You’re always going to be Prince’s mother.”
That’s what Judge Michael Algeo told Hera McLeod when he awarded her sole custody, and limited the abusive father to supervised visitation. I’ve heard judges make similar statements hundreds of times, as they demand a mother cooperate with her abuser and jeopardize her child. This time the judge initially protected Prince, but ordered a hearing in three months to determine if that protection would continue. At that hearing, the judge effectively signed Prince’s death warrant.
Hera McLeod will always be Prince’s mother, but she will never mother him again. It’s easy to criticize a judge who never should have been in a position to take Prince’s life. But I blame the father, and I blame the broken custody court system.
